Coincidentally, Leafsnap wás deveIoped by my friend Péter Belhumeur, a résearcher at Columbia Univérsity.) Leafsnap correctly idéntified both a Ieaf from a Japanése maple ( Acer paImatum ) and the simiIar leaf of thé sweetgum ( Liquidambar styracifIua ). Lynn was right.
